Applications are invited from highly motivated, experienced and qualified Biomedical Scientists to join the Haematology and Blood Transfusion team at PAWS in the role of Biomedical Scientist. The position is based at The Royal Albert Edward Infirmary (RAEI) Wigan and the you will be expected to take part on the out of hour’s rota on this site. You will also be required to work at the Wrightington site of Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh (WWL) Foundation trust as well as working some shifts at our main site at Salford Royal.

You will hold a BSc in Biomedical Sciences or Approved alternative science degree plus post graduate certificate in Biomedical Science or equivalent. To be eligible for a band 6 grading you will have the specialist portfolio, MSc in Haematology or Transfusion , or can demonstrate equivalent qualifications and/ or experience. You will be able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience of Haematology and will have underpinning knowledge of CPA and clinical governance.

You will work in of all sections of the Haematology and Blood Transfusion department at WWL and SRFT (When required) and help ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation bodies.

It would be highly desirable if you can drive and have use of a car, due to the cross site nature of this post.
