Join us and be part of something bigger.

We have paved the way for excellence in Integrated Care and in July 2016 took the  pioneering step to form one of the first Integrated Care Organisations.  We now provide adult social care services alongside our established healthcare services, which has given us the chance to develop better, more joined up ways of working that deliver improved outcomes for the local community.

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust has one of the strongest track records of providing excellent patient care services, financial delivery and staff satisfaction in the NHS. We are an integrated provider of hospital, community and primary care services, including the University Teaching Hospital. Our team of 7,000 staff provide local services to the City of Salford and specialist services to Greater Manchester and beyond.

The ultrasound department consists of 8 Ultrasound rooms on the acute site and one Ultrasound facility in the community. We have recently replaced two of our obstetric ultrasound machines and are hoping to move forwards with replacement ultrasound equipment in the near future to ensure all of our equipment meets the highest of standards.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sonographer to become part of the team. You will be a Sonographer with a CASE Accredited qualification to at least PgC / PGDip or equivalent preferably in Abdominal, Vascular, Gynae and Obstetric scanning but a qualification in any of these fields will be considered. HCPC or equivalent registration is essential. NT experience and FMF / DQASS number is highly desirable.

The post is varied and challenging, offering opportunities to develop skills and we will attempt to accommodate professional interests where possible. In addition, we aim to offer further opportunities to develop skills in sub-specialty areas such as MSK.

The department is committed to trainee sonographers and opportunities to act as a student mentor may be possible for interested employees. The department has strong links with the University of Salford.

Part time hours will be considered and this could include weekend or evening hours. There will be opportunities to work flexibly with routine weekend sessions currently in operation.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, sexual preference, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.

Previous applicants need not apply.
