Join us and be part of something bigger.

We have paved the way for excellence in Integrated Care and in July 2016 took the  pioneering step to form one of the first Integrated Care Organisations.  We now provide adult social care services alongside our established healthcare services, which has given us the chance to develop better, more joined up ways of working that deliver improved outcomes for the local community.

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT) and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (PAHT) now operate as a NHS Group, known as the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group. This brings together over 17,000 staff, through our hospitals and associated community and healthcare services, which are being run as Care Organisations: Salford, Oldham, Bury & Rochdale and North Manchester.

SRFT is currently managing PAHT services through a management agreement. NHS Improvement is expected to confirm the plan for the long term arrangement and future for PAHT hospital sites, to support the delivery of improved, reliable care and patient experience.

SRFT has initiated a programme to support and deliver the transformation and long-term solution for PAHT. The programme will ensure the long-term stabilisation and transformation of PAHT’s services, patient safety and quality, and will provide economies of scale, which are delivered locally and deliver value to the taxpayer. This model will be replicable across GM and wider.

The Programme Communication & Engagement Specialist is part of the PMO team, responsible for delivering transformation required to deliver the long term arrangements for PAHT. This includes strategic and business case development, the integration and implementation planning, and analysis for consideration of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). This communication role is central to delivering a joint communication and engagement strategy with partner agencies, and embedding a compelling vision and narrative with internal and external stakeholder groups.

The Programme Communication & Engagement Specialist will:

  1. Develop and deliver high quality communications for the programme to ensure that staff, internal and external stakeholders fully understand what is changing, why, when and how, working closely with the Group Director of Communications and Programme Director.
  2. Support Programme Managers and work stream leads across the Alliance with the planning and delivery of the programme communication & engagement strategy, approach and requirements.
  3. Monitor and evaluate delivery and impact of communications to facilitate the achievement of key programme milestones and to inform further communication and engagement activity and messaging.
  4. Work closely with communication leads across partner agencies including other NHS Trusts (providers), Commissioners/CCGs, GM HSCP, NHSI and regulatory bodies on joint communications.
  5. Map and maintain a key stakeholder list and produce a planned approach to engage with stakeholders. Map critical internal and external meetings/forums and opportunities for keeping stakeholders updated.
  6. Deputise for the Group Director of Communications in relevant meetings.
  7. Work with the Group Communication Team to contribute ideas in the development of communication materials, assets and channels to support the programme.
  8. Plan and produce copy related to the programme for use across range of internal & external channels.
  9. Manage programme updates relating to communications and engagement activity, feeding in progress.
  10. Contribute to and deliver high-quality reports in line with agreed governance arrangements.

The post is offered as 18 months fixed term or secondment, with potential for extension
