Join us and be part of something bigger.

We have paved the way for excellence in Integrated Care and in July 2016 took the  pioneering step to form one of the first Integrated Care Organisations.  We now provide adult social care services alongside our established healthcare services, which has given us the chance to develop better, more joined up ways of working that deliver improved outcomes for the local community.

Applications are invited for a Locum appointment as a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, with interests in Neurorehabilitation to join the department of Neurorehabilitation at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences based in Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust at Salford Royal Hospital.  This appointment is for up to one year, and is available from May 2018 to cover maternity leave of the substantive postholder.

This locum post provides an opportunity to contribute to established hyper-acute Neurorehabilitation and Major Trauma Rehabilitation services, so may be attractive to doctors on the specialist register for Rehabilitation Medicine who have not had this experience during their training.

This is a full time post, but consideration will be given to applicants wanting to work less than full time, and will be part of the Neurorehabilitation and Major Trauma rehabilitation service at Salford Royal, where there are dedicated hyper-acute Neurorehabilitation and Major Trauma rehabilitation beds. The acute services at Salford Royal are networked with 3 post-acute Neurorehabilitation services and several community Neurorehabilitation services in Greater Manchester.

Neurorehabilitation is a priority service for the devolution of health and social care in Greater Manchester, which is planned during 2018/19.

You will join an established team of 5 Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine at Salford Royal, and 10 other consultants across the conurbation. The Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre is one of the leading Neuroscience Centres in the United Kingdom; Neurorehabilitation is fully integrated into Neurosciences and into the Major Trauma Centre at Salford Royal.

To be eligible for consideration candidates must be on the GMC Specialist Register or have CCT in Rehabilitation Medicine.

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership. However, as members of ethnicity minority  groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups.  Appointment will be based on merit alone.
