Under the new leadership of the Northern Care Alliance, the Oldham Care Organisation Geriatrician Team are looking to make a number of appointments to support the continued growth of this high impact department.

Acute Geriatric services are provided across the Alliance, however the successful individual will be based predominantly at the Royal Oldham Hospital. The Royal Oldham is recognised as a red/hub hospital in the Healthier Together plan for the future of Greater Manchester Healthcare Commissioning. Working towards the Alliance mantra of ‘Saving lives, Improving lives’ this is a care organisation with vision and focus towards creating innovative healthcare systems based on the needs of its community.

The Geriatrician team generally supports older patients but also those who suffer frailty irrespective of age. This role will focus on the complex medical needs of patients who are undergoing orthopaedic or vascular surgery with an additional general medical component which will see you make a valued contribution to the general medical team.

To be eligible for consideration you must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Geriatrics & General Internal Medicine or a Specialist Registrar within six months of your CCT date or have equivalent experience to be entered on the GMC Specialist Registrar within six months of the interview date.
