The Royal Oldham Hospital is entering into a new healthcare system across Greater Manchester which means it has been identified as the centre for major intra-abdominal surgery and as a Hub hospital as part of Healthier Together.

Many of the patients we will be seeing will require the services of Critical Care at The Royal Oldham and for that reason we are looking for patient focussed individuals to join us in creating the best possible care package for our patients.

Staff here are passionate, dedicated and 100% committed to our patients:

‘It’s a nice, friendly hospital and I’ve had a very good experience. The supernumery period is twice the normal length of time as the care is very complicated in Intensive Care. We need a wide knowledge base as the conditions of our patients can be very different - I really like that it’s such a varied environment to work in.’

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

• A comprehensive 8 week supernumary induction programme
• A well-established, supportive nursing and managerial team
• Excellent personal and professional development opportunities.
• Flexibility and a working pattern to fit around your needs and that of your patients

CRITICALLY CARING FOR OUR PATIENTS

We are looking for nurses who understand the importance of treating the patient like a person. Your commitment to the team and supporting your colleagues will be absolutely neccessary in an environment that requires the team to pull together through often stressful and emotionally challenging situations.

A sense of ownership for your patients, a ‘can do’ attitude and determination to deliver the best patient care is essential. You will have a professional yet empathetic approach in an environment that for both patient and families can at times be extremely traumatic.
We are future focussed and always looking at new ways of working so we would love someone with vision and the ability to adapt easily to join us on our journey to excellence.

We welcome the chance for you to see how our department works and encourage you to visit us as part of your application.
