Looking for fast pace, variety and a highly rewarding job where no two days are the same?

Look no further than Acute Medicine.

The Oldham Care Organisation is looking to recruit Band 5 registered staff nurses of varying experience to join the acute medicine team at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

If you’re a registered or student nurse wanting a role that allows you to constantly grow and learn new skills Acute Medicine could be the specialty for you. Working in this environment means you’ll be exposed to a variety of medical conditions, work with an array of professionals from differing backgrounds and provides the opportunity to develop your career without constraint.

The Royal Oldham’s Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Ambulatory Care Unit provide a much needed transition for our patients from front door to the home or ward environment. Joining this hard working, dedicated team gives you the honoured position of setting the scene for high quality care throughout a patient’s time with us.  You would be the welcoming face of what we consider to be an incredibly caring team of professionals.

Our commitment to you

  • Nursing teams who are passionate about delivering high quality care.
  • Support and encouragement from a future focussed senior nursing team.
  • The chance to grow and develop your skills, if you are already a registered nurse any current training or development you are involved in will naturally be honoured.
  • Variety, if you want to enhance your skills we are able to use specialties across our organisation to support a bespoke rotational or development programme that suits your needs
  • Flexibility, where possible we will support you with a shift pattern that fits in with your day to day life, we have night only and weekend only shifts available if that’s what you’re looking for.
  • If you are due to qualify soon, as a newly qualified nurse we will not only pay your NMC registration fee for the first year but also pay you Band 4 until your PIN is received.

Nursing for the future

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals, who work well under pressure and are keen to learn. You need to be a great team player but self-motivated to work independently when necessary.  You will be a nursing professional who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients but can also apply these qualities to your team members.

A sense of ownership for your patients, a ‘can do’ attitude and determination to deliver the best patient care is essential in a department that can have a massive impact on the patient experience.

We welcome the chance for you to see how our department works and encourage you to visit us as part of your application.
