This is an exciting opportunity to maintain and develop our Clinical Pharmacy Service to our Women’s and Children’s Divisions whilst covering maternity leave of the current post holder. The pharmacy departments at Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trust are progressive, forward thinking and focused on the provision of high quality clinical services. Our department at North Manchester General Hospital is automated and benefits from aseptic and medicines information services on site. The hospital offers a wide range of specialties including Medical, Surgical, Paediatrics, Level 2 Neonatal Unit, Maternity, Critical Care, Infectious diseases and Clinical trials.

As the Senior Clinical Pharmacist for Women’s and Children’s you will be responsible for the management and provision of clinical pharmacy services to the Women’s and Children’s Divisions at North Manchester General Hospital and support implementation and compliance with medicines management policies within the specialties.

Specialties within Women’s and Children’s at North Manchester General Hospital include: Paediatric inpatients, with high dependency beds, the paediatric assessment ward, a ward based pharmacy service to all maternity wards, a level 2 neonatal unit, paediatric infectious diseases clinics and representation at the Trust wide drugs and therapeutics committee. You will be responsible for supervising the activity and training of supporting pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists and technical staff providing an opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills. We are looking for a Pharmacist with a commitment to improving patient safety, medicines expenditure and patient flow through innovation and integration with pharmacy, medical, nursing and management staff.

For this post you must have a postgraduate clinical diploma and clinical experience in a hospital setting.
