The Medical & Dental Education Department at North Manchester General Hospital requires an experienced and enthusiastic individual to provide quality assurance and effective central administration to the medical revalidation and appraisal of medical staff within the Trust, reporting to the Assistant Manager for Medical Revalidation & Appraisal.

This position requires excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organisational skills and an extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word. You will have substantial experience of administrative work at a senior level. You will be educated to Diploma Level 3 or have equivalent knowledge or experience, possess Math’s & English Grade A-C or equivalent along with ECDL or an equivalent IT qualification.  Training skills will be an advantage as training doctors on the use of the PremierIT system is required.

In order to meet this challenging role responsibilities include:-

  • Involvement with formulating processes and procedures to ensure a robust revalidation and appraisal process within the Trust ensuring the Trust policies and procedures are adhered to at all times whilst ensuring the Trust are compliant with all regulatory requirements, escalating any potential problems director to the Assistant Manager Medical Revalidation & Appraisal as appropriate.
  • Confident with databases and negotiating with senior staff throughout the organisation to ensure that all revalidation and appraisal processes are fully implemented, escalating any issues to the Assistant Manager Medical Revalidation & Appraisal and providing update reports on the status of events as required.
  • To act as a main point of contact/expert user for all associated packages on the Trust’s chosen medical appraisal system and run regular reports on activity and provide statistics as required.
  • To prepare detailed medical revalidation folders for doctors in a timely fashion and meet with the Responsible Officer to support them to make relevant recommendations using appropriate systems.
  • Prepare paperwork and support senior staff at meetings, workshops and training events participating as requested.

You must be flexible and able to work across four sites when necessary. You are also required to have the ability to work alone, or as part of a team.  Confidentiality and professionalism must be maintained at all times.
