An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the newly redesigned Bury Integrated Pain Service. The service has undergone extensive re-design to become a fully integrated multi-disciplinary pain service.  Patient assessment in the new service is physiotherapist-led and you will therefore be the main point of contact for all new patients entering the service.  You will work alongside and be supported by advanced physiotherapy practitioners.  You will also receive additional training and support from the multi-disciplinary team, including psychological therapists, pain consultants, specialist pain nurses and liaison psychiatrists.  In addition to assessing new patients, the role will also involve the management of patients on an individual basis and delivering multi-disciplinary pain management programmes at locations across Bury.  The role will also involve some sessions working with the MSK out-patients physiotherapy team.  This service assesses and treats patients from primary care, orthopaedics, A&E and Occupational Health.

You will be either an experienced band 6 or existing band 7 who are looking to progress their careers and specialise in this area. You will have extensive experience and evidence of skills and training required for a band 7 musculoskeletal pain post.  You will be able to demonstrate evidence of excellent bio-psychosocial assessment skills and the outstanding communication skills required to successfully deliver pain management interventions.

The physiotherapy service is working towards a 7 day model and as such you will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns including weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary.
